How is this score determined?
Reviewed by Android Health ClinicAt 300 mg of elemental magnesium the dosage looks fine on paper, but the product is based on magnesium oxide: for general supplementation clearly a less suitable choice due to its lower bioavailability. On top of that, the colourings and sweeteners add nothing. Good to know: magnesium oxide can actually be a logical choice if the product is specifically intended for constipation.
What is this useful for?
Magnesium is not a standard sports supplement: for healthy athletes with a varied diet there is no convincing evidence that extra magnesium improves performance or recovery. Supplementation is mainly useful with a demonstrated deficiency or an increased risk of one, for example due to a one-sided diet, certain bowel diseases or some medications (such as loop diuretics and proton pump inhibitors).
