How is this score determined?

This product combines 4000 IU of vitamin D3 with 100 mcg of K2 (MK-7), putting it at the upper limit of what still counts as a safe maintenance dose. The combination with K2 is biologically logical, but the added value for the general population is only modestly substantiated. The dosage is high but acceptable; more than 2000 IU doesn't add extra quality.

What is this useful for?

Vitamin D is one of the few supplements that genuinely adds something for many people. Supplementation is mainly useful with little sun exposure, darker skin, at an older age and in the period from October to April in north-west Europe. Ultimately, the blood level (25-OH vitamin D) is what matters: any dosage that produces an adequate level is in principle fine. Because levels are rarely checked in practice, a maintenance dose of around 2000 IU (50 mcg) per day is a good choice for most adults.
